About

My work aims to make everybody feel welcome and inspired.

Based in Berlin, I work internationally either on my own or as part of a team. For bigger projects I can scale up with a reliable network of specialists. If you are looking for a creative collaborator, get in touch.

Rose Apple a.k.a. Rose Epple

> Bio

I studied illustration and graphic design in Lyon, Hamburg, Paris and at Central Saint Martins College in London, where I lived for five years and watched the E in my last name change into an A. After graduating I taught at my old college and did illustrations for English and German publications. My freelance design work branched out into corporate and editorial design after moving to Berlin in 2000.

From 2002 to 2012 I collaborated on scenography projects with architect Detlef Weitz and joined forces with him in 2006 under the name of chezweitz & roseapple. Our studio designed numerous exhibitions, urban interventions, publications and campaigns for leading cultural institutions across Europe and won the German Design Prize in Gold. For a reflection on this work read From Bauhaus to Betahaus.

Since, the scope of my work has widened ever more. Next to my design practice, I teach, talk and write about design, curate participatory exhibitions, lead design workshops in museums, schools and businesses and have self-published a design activity booklet for kids.
